Marina Port Valencia is putting the finishing touches to its facilities for the Spain Sail Grand Prix Valencia on 5 and 6 September 2026. SailGP’s first visit to the city will bring together 13 national teams racing identical F50 catamarans capable of exceeding 100 km/h on their foils.

The event brings Valencia onto the Rolex SailGP Championship circuit and will take elite sailing closer to spectators, with a racecourse near the shore and the opportunity to follow the action from the Marina Norte waterfront.

A month of preparations to welcome the fleet

The marina has spent approximately a month adapting its spaces and coordinating the work needed to accommodate teams, boats, technical staff, organisers and visitors. Dedicated competition areas are taking shape across the site, making the marina a central meeting point for the weekend.

F50 racing close to the spectators

The course’s proximity to Marina Norte will allow spectators to watch the catamarans rise onto their foils. High-technology boats, speeds above 100 km/h and some of the world’s leading sailors are among the main attractions of this first Valencia edition.

Beyond the racing, Marina Port Valencia expects thousands of fans and visitors. Their arrival is expected to support activity around the waterfront and raise Valencia’s profile as a destination for major international sailing events.

Los Gallos race on home waters

Spain’s Los Gallos team will have the support of its home crowd. The crew is led by Olympic champions Diego Botín and Florian Trittel, two of Spanish sailing’s standout names.

For Marina Port Valencia, hosting SailGP is an opportunity to put its facilities at the service of an international competition and demonstrate its organisational capacity.
